Our Outreach

Each and every day the St. John Bosco family lives its faith in both word and deed. Through our hands-on work and boots-on-the-ground initiatives, we are the heart and hands of Christ in the greater Hammond community. What we do, who we are is always rooted in Christ.

"If I do not perform my Father’s works, do not believe me; but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me, believe the works." - John 10:37-38

Our conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides emergency food assistance to residents of Columbia Center and the surrounding neighborhood. If you are finding yourself in an unexpected situation and are in need of food or assistance, contact our volunteer hotline at (219) XXX-XXXX.

Each year, the St. John Bosco family helps provide a brighter Christmas for those members of our parish family and surrounding. community in need. The Giving Tree Project begins in each year October. For information on how you can volunteer to make someone's Christmas a little brighter, contact Chris Balzer at ADDRESS.

Each summer, the SJB family collects clothing from our parish family and hosts a free clothing giveaway for anyone in need.  Look for ways to help beginning in June.
